Footers, Plumbing, and Foundation

The last two weeks have been a little slow, but we are able to find patience in knowing that the foundations of our home are quite important to get 'just right'.

On Thursday, November 8th we stopped by to see the beginnings of laying down the footers for our home.

We went back by the house again on Friday to see the finalization of the footers, gravel fill, and a drainage pipe around the exterior perimeter of where the foundation will be.

This past week some rain delayed the start of our foundation being poured, but after our weekly contact with the project manager on Friday, we were reassured that everything is right on track.  Our foundation is poured and we should expect slabs, inspection, and lumber deliver early this week.  Hopefully by Wednesday they will start framing!

Everything really seems slower while the plumbing and the laying of the foundation for the house is underway but everything speeds up right after that, including the exciting part! haha! Hey, I commented on your post 8 hours before your new house closing! I guess that's a cause for celebration, eh?

The progress slows down because everything must be installed properly. You wouldn't want to have leaks or damages on the pipelines and electric lines when everything's done and you're already living in the house. The wait is well worth it anyway because it feels so great to move in after so much waiting.

Seeing how things are progressing, I bet you’re almost done with the plumbing system by now. I hope it’s not too late to mention though, about creating a drainage ditch. It’s a route of departure for excess water that may collect at a given location on your place of residence.
